We’re a short distance away from the 91 and 5 freeways, and near the 57 and 22. Our location is easily accessible to all of Orange County, Los Angeles County and Riverside County. We’ve specially set up our home to be able to offer the dogs in training a suitable environment in which they can train, play and relax. Check out the photos below. Our Home, where Homestay training takes place. Our House When we purchased our new home it was with the needs of CK9 in mind. A block wall with metal gates, complete with a solid wooden fence in the back and multiple safety gates, helps us ensure that our students are in safe keeping. The location is centrally located near freeways and major streets to make us easy for you to get to. Our ongoing improvements offer your dog a beautiful home to stay in as well as a pleasant place for you to meet with your trainer and work with your dog. Golden Retrievers Poppy and Clover in the Play Yard. The Play Yard A private area of the yard is specially dedicated to your dog’s socialization and relaxation! There are toys, a wading pool, and 800 square feet of running space. It’s the perfect size to get out some wiggles, yet small enough to maintain proper contact with us so that we can ensure safe play and socialization. Socialization is an important part of your dog’s training. They’re brought out as a group at least 5 times a day for play time, 7 days a week. Their time is 100% supervised and appropriate behavior is always maintained. Your dog’s safety is always on our minds. Beyond each of the two gates to the play yard is a locked metal gate. The yard is secured with a 6’ solid fence and 100% supervision. Outdoor Runs Our recently upgraded outdoor runs are stronger and more secure than the industry standard. Heavy gauge welded wire, welded wire roofing panels, and solid panels in between ensure that your dog is safe and secure. A custom-fitted cover keeps the dogs sheltered from the elements. And located on the south side of the house, the dogs get the coolest and most shaded area on the property on those warm summer days. Each run is a spacious 25 square feet and outfitted with blankets to nest in, water and toys. And unlike a boarding kennel, the dogs are getting out a minimum of 5 times a day, 7 days a week, to train or play! Gloria the Pit Bull in the Outdoor Runs. Golden Retrievers Poppy and Clover in the Indoor Pens. Indoor Pens Indoor pens provide a place to stay for the calmer dogs, the little guys, and our older students. Each run is 16 square feet with bedding and toys. Indoor pens are also a great place for our students receiving housebreaking and potty pad training. Crates for sleeping and training. Each dog has their own assigned crate during their stay so it becomes their special place. Crates Each dog is assigned their own crate to sleep in each night. Their crate comes to smell like them and they can call it their own. They’re given plenty of blankets and toys for their comfort and the room is heated or cooled as needed. We also use crates to aid in housebreaking, just like you would at home. Crates are also very helpful in helping new incoming students relax. You’ll see us put your dog in a crate covered with a blanket at check-in. The lights are kept low and soft music or soothing talk radio is playing at all times. This helps to calm your dog when he or she first arrives. Not sure how you feel about using a crate? Know that dogs are naturally den animals and find security and comfort in small spaces. You may see your dog squeeze between your legs or go under a chair. Same idea! If your dog is not used to being in one, no worries. It’s part of the training and he or she will learn to really enjoy it! Make an appointment to see for yourself! Consultations on site are always free. Our oldest son with Pixel in the Training Yard. Training Yard The training yard provides a place for us to work with your dog outdoors. With over 900 square feet of grassy lawn and paved courtyard, we have plenty of room and variety in which to practice your dog’s obedience commands and leash manners. This is also where we’ll hold the outdoors portion of your checkout lesson. EJ practicing a long Place command with Gloria the Pit Bull. Indoor Training Training is not restricted to outdoors only. We utilize our own living areas to work with your dog on the Place command and house manners. We’ll also hold part of your checkout lesson in the living room, where you can see your dog’s behavior in a real home environment and get some practice enforcing proper manners. This is only one of the many things that makes Homestay a unique program, and CK9 the best choice! Your dog will be well experienced in so much more than obedience. And will have experience in a real home environment. Clients with their dog, Roscoe, for Homestay training. E-Mail info@CK9training.com for dog training information and quote. Or Call 714-OH-DOGGY!
